Roland Faber
1955 - 2021
Roland W. Faber passed away in Taber on Friday, July 9, 2021 on his own terms with his brother Harry by his side.
The celebration of Roly’s life was held at the Vauxhall Legion, 217 - 5 Street North, Vauxhall on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
His trademark "Faber" stubbornness and his ability to always be his authentic self will not be forgotten. We know he would describe himself as a well educated, honest, grumpy old fart who would detest the thought of people fussing over his death. Too bad Uncle, we are going to anyways. Roly was a generous man who surrounded himself with good friends and was happy as long as you were happy. That's why we loved him so much. If you ever had the pleasure of texting with him you would know he was a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. His messages required some serious deciphering skills, along with a dictionary, to keep up with his extensive vocabulary and knowledge. His favorite activities included fishing with his dog Gus, cycling, reading, music and hanging out with his brother and friends. Roly often said his regrets were few as he unapologetically lived life the way he wanted, although he did mention that he wished he had trained his beloved dog Gus to detect cancer and was looking forward to the "sucking up" of his foes and was eagerly anticipating telling them "where to go" before he died. Roly, you will be greatly missed and most ardently remembered by family and friends. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Roly's life in their own way. Blazing up an offering to the gods of fishing would be quite appropriate.
Many thanks to his good friend Bruce for taking care of his beloved dog Gus and to the Taber hospital staff for providing peace and tranquility during his transition from this life to the next.
