Argyl Maureen Stolk, beloved wife of the late John Stolk, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden.

As a result of the restrictions regarding COVID-19 and the government recommendations, a private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. with Shelly Bassett officiating.

Archie is survived by her children Shelley Fakir (Ron Townrow) of Didsbury and her three children Lynda (son Jayden), Maria (daughter Taylor and sons Aaron, Caleb and Aiden) and Michael (his wife Stephanie and his son Grayson); Terry (Palma) Stolk of Edmonton and his children Nigel and Nicholas; Frank’s son Daniel. She is also survived by her siblings Leona, Fern (Phil) and Lyle (Anne); sister-in-law Pat and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband John; son Frank; siblings Joyce (Delco), Ross and Ruby; brother-in-law Harold.

Archie was born in Acme on March 10, 1938. After John and Archie were married, they lived the majority of their years in the Taber/Vauxhall area before moving to Carmangay and later Claresholm. Archie adored John and he made sure to always spoil the love of his life. After John’s passing, Archie lived in Olds before returning to Taber where she remained until her passing.

Archie was a spunky woman. She was an incredibly hardworking individual and operated her own businesses over the years. She would deal with the challenges life presented and then go shopping! Her appearance was very important to her and she took great pride in always looking her best.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Archie’s name may be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society, 40, 1202 - 2 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0E3 www.alzheimer.ca.
