Anne Chontosh

1929 - 2018

Anne Chontosh, beloved wife of the late Andy Chontosh, passed away, with family by her side, in Taber on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the age of 89 years. 

 Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.

 The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. 

 Anne will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her children Diane (Ken) Koshgarian of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; David Chontosh of Taber and his children Shane (Jerilyn) Potts (their children Grayson and Novak) and Jamie Sparrow (her children Poppy and Jude); Cathy Chontosh of Calgary; Wally Chontosh of Taber; and Paul Chontosh of Taber and his children Hayley, Brooke and Jasmine. She is also survived by her brother Bing (Vikki) Boras; sisters-in-law Marie Boras, Fran Boras and Katie Milder; brother-in-law Ed Moore as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. 

 She was predeceased by her husband Andy; son Tommy; parents Mike and Katie Boras; siblings John Boras, Walter Boras and Marie Moore; brothers-in-law Urban Horvath and Joe Milder; sister-in-law Mary Horvath; father-in-law and mother-in-law Andy and Mary Chontosh. 

 Anne was born at Raymond on February 16, 1929 to Mike and Katie Boras. She went to school in Iron Springs and then worked in Picture Butte. She married Andy Chontosh on January 31, 1950 in Picture Butte. In 1951 they purchased a farm in Taber, where the family resides today. Anne's greatest love was her family, as well she loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She loved to entertain and hosted several birthday and anniversary parties. Anne enjoyed several crafts such as crochet, quilting, bunka and braiding rugs. She had a love for sports, especially baseball and her favorite team the Blue Jays, as well as hockey and the Calgary Flames. Anne was a member of the Catholic Woman's League, joining as a young girl in Picture Butte and continued after her marriage in Taber (for over sixty eight years).
