FUNERAL SERVICE AUDIO RECORDING

June Clifton

1921 - 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, June Clifton (nee Ovard), passed away in Taber on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the age of 96 years.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 8, 2018 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.

June is survived by her four children Marvin (Vicki) Clifton of Calgary, Diane (Donald) Hallstrom of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael Clifton of Medicine Hat and Denyse (Todd) Brilz of Medicine Hat; twelve grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Dale, her parents and all her siblings. June was born on June 16, 1921 in Coaldale to her parents Emma (nee Tillack) and George Ovard. She was their seventh daughter and ninth child. June married her childhood sweetheart Dale Clifton on November 26, 1941 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They were married for sixty nine years.

June was an exquisite seamstress, a master at handwork, a devoted gardener and a quilter. She loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice. Her family was her joy and she was grateful to be a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. June was a woman who went about doing good, quietly and without seeking recognition. As a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the auxiliaries of the Church and was a visiting teacher until her health no longer permitted. June lived her testimony of the Savior through her tireless service, care and compassion for her elderly parents and parents-in-law. Perhaps her greatest legacy is the constant love and selfless devotion shown as she cared for Dale, who was paralyzed for the last twenty three years of his life.

The Clifton family is deeply grateful for the loving service provided by the caregivers at Taber Clearview Lodge and the nursing staff at the Good Samaritans Linden View extended care facility. They also thank the many ministering acts of kindness by family members and those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
