Ken Turner

1939 - 2018

Kenneth Maynard Turner, beloved husband of Lolly Turner, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the age of 79 years.

 A private service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Ken is survived by his wife Leola “Lolly” Turner and his children Howard (Tammy) Turner of Vauxhall and their children Cody, Kevin and Kyle; Michael Turner of Lethbridge and his children Andrew, Kayla and Meagan; Tanya Turner of Quesnel, British Columbia and her children Reigh and Triton; Jamie Lent (Shannon Jacobson) of Taber and their children Tarynn and Layla; Rhonda Lent of Edmonton and her daughter Anna; Jared Milder of Taber. He is also survived by his brother Larry (Shirley) Turner of Ontario, sister Mary Morrison of Nova Scotia and by numerous nieces and nephews. Ken will also be remembered by the Turner family’s close friend Shelly Perini.

He was predeceased by his parents Maynard and Lillian Turner; sisters Louise (Bessie) Cole and Dorothy (Russell) Tattrie; brothers Bill (Carol) Turner and Bob (Marlene) Turner.

Ken was born on February 12, 1939 in Fairfield, New Brunswick. Lolly and Ken met in Ontario in 1978 and moved to Alberta in 1980. They married in 1985. In 1999, Ken retired as a supervisor from Hostess Frito Lay, where he had been employed for forty five years.

He was a member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion and was also a member of the Taber Lions Club. Ken was heavily involved in multiple community programs.

He had a passion for running a day home with Lolly and thoroughly enjoyed his time with children. Throughout the years, one hundred and twenty four children from the Taber community attended their day home.
