Dennis Zelenka

1930 - 2017

It is with great sadness the family of Dennis Emanuel Zelenka, beloved husband of Julianna Zelenka, announce his peaceful passing in Taber on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the age of 87 years.

 A private service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, December 29, 2017. 

 Besides Julianna, his loving wife of sixty four years, he is survived by his children Robert (Carol) Zelenka of Lethbridge, Kenneth (Adrianne) Zelenka of Ottawa, Joanne (Jeff) Bronsch of Taber and Phillip (Janet) Zelenka of Cochrane; grandchildren John, Heather, Andrew, Alexandra, Carmen, Courtney and Kelsey as well as one great grandchild Blake. He is also survived by his sisters Ramona (Ray) Ganton and Marilyn Zelenka.

 Dennis was born in Taber on October 23, 1930 to Amil and Julia Zelenka. He married Julianna Fekete on February 26, 1953. They resided on the family farm twelve miles south of Taber where they raised their four children. After forty years of farming, Dennis and Julianna retired. During his retirement, he wintered in Arizona and enjoyed travelling to Europe, Hawaii and all across Canada with his wife. When he was not travelling, he enjoyed watching hockey and baseball, woodworking and spoiling his seven grandchildren. Dennis lived life to the fullest and enjoyed meeting new people, socializing and having a good time.
