1939 - 2017
Jeannette Kondor (neé Clelland), passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 77 years.
A private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Jeannette is survived by her six children Christine (Barry) Kostiuk and their children Victoria and Justin; Steven (Tracy) Kondor and their family Cameron, Trent and Alli; Yvonne Millette and her daughter Ashley; Tracey Kondor (Mike Collard) and their daughters Samantha and Jessica; Martin (Benita) Kondor and their children Aimee and Blake; Brian (Michele) Kondor and their children Nik, Derrick and Rachel. She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Parker and Linda (Mark) Winfield as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband of fifty eight years Al Kondor; granddaughter Megan Kondor; parents Jennie and Allan Clelland; siblings Shirley Thomson, Allan Clelland Jr., Ken Clelland, June Rousseau, Betty Marie Gregory and James Clelland.
Jeannette was born on November 11, 1939 in Listowel, Ontario where she lived until she joined the Canadian Air Force as a secretary at eighteen years of age and moved to Cold Lake, Alberta. She served in the Air Force in Cold Lake and Trenton, Ontario, during which time she met her husband Al. After Al’s father’s passing, they moved to Vauxhall to look after the family farm and raise their children. Jeannette greatly enjoyed gardening, from which she made her infamous raspberry jam that her family always asked for. She was a talented baker to which all of her children can attest, and she greatly enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing puzzles. Jeannette enjoyed family times spent with her children and grandchildren and was very proud of their achievements. She was extremely dedicated to farm life, always helping out during planting and harvesting and living her life with her husband Louie on the farm.
