David Krahn

1926 - 2017

David Krahn, a long time resident of Taber, passed away peacefully in Coaldale on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, September 7, 2017 between 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.

The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 5431 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.

David is survived by his wife of sixty seven years, Anna; eleven children Judy (Jake) Bueckert of Calgary, Daniel (Helen) Krahn of Kleefeld, Manitoba, Stella (Tomo) Kedoin of Lethbridge, Cornelius (Rosalee) Krahn of Red Deer, Katherine Warnock of Red Deer, Henry (Caroline) Krahn of Bolivia, John Krahn of Lethbridge, James (Dawn) Krahn of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Bernie (Corenna) Krahn of Hinton, Tim (Evi) Krahn of Lethbridge and Margie (Brian) Schellenberg of Calgary; twenty four grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, one brother as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Mary; parents Isaac and Agatha Krahn; nine siblings.

For the past four years David has been living and cared for at the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale. Prior to deteriorating health dictating his move, he was a happy resident of Taber and a faithful attender at the Evangelical Free Church.

Aside from having his family come for visits David loved having coffee with friends, swimming at the Taber pool, puttering around his yard, sitting in the sun and teasing those he loved (and even those he may have just met!). He had a flare for adventure and loved to travel and experience new things.

As a family, we are relieved for him that he has been released from an ailing mind and body, yet we remember him with fondness and are saddened by his passing.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in David’s name may be made directly to the Rehoboth Christian Ministries, Box 1312, Coaldale, Alberta T1M 1N1 www.rehoboth.ab.ca.
