Gabe Sebastian
1935 - 2017
Gabriel Joseph Sebastian, beloved husband of Laurice Sebastian, passed away in Coaldale on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 81 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to join the family for a reception at the Taber Golf Club, 4904 - 44 Street, Taber on Saturday, August 26, 2017 between 2:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
A private burial service was held in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Besides Laurice, his loving wife of sixty years, he is survived by their children Debbie (David) Lucyk of Westlock, Maureen (Don) Barnett of Grande Prairie, Kathryn Sebastian of Calgary and Bernard Sebastian of Calgary; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother and by Laurice’s parents.
Gabe was born in Punnichy, Saskatchewan July 3, 1935 to Jim and Martha Sebastian. He worked for several companies over the years but his greatest passion was golf. His first championship came in 1961. From that point on, he amassed numerous championship flight wins including in part, nine Estevan Oilmen’s championships, the 1968 amateur, berths on three Saskatchewan Willingdon Cup teams, three senior and super senior Alberta teams (the 1997 team winning the Canadian overall title), along with a host of membership and nonmembership titles throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

Gabe will be fondly remembered as an inspiration to succeed but more importantly, as a stern yet loving husband, father and grandfather.
