Paul Freeborn
1935 - 2016
Paul Peter Freeborn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away in Taber on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the age of 81 years.
A private visitation was held at Southland Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
Besides Darlene, his beloved wife of sixty one years, he is survived by their sons Emory Freeborn of Warner and Michael Freeborn of Swift Current, Saskatchewan; grandchildren Vincent and Malory; great grandchildren Talia and Nixon; a sister Ruth Fuhr and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul loved to spend time with his family, friends and their little dog Chico.
He was predceased by his father Robert James Freeborn and mother Grace Freeborn; brothers Bobby, Frank, Tom and Jim Freeborn and sister Dorothy Williams.
Paul was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on February 25, 1935. During his working years he achieved journeyman status as a plumber, pipefitter, tinsmith and as a gasfitter. He managed or was general manager for several companys including P.A. Chemicals in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Alberta Sugar in Taber, Alberta Dehy Plant in Bow Island and Cage Transport in Taber. He also tried his hand at business, opening a second hand store in Taber and also owned Low Cost Towing for several years in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Paul took pride in encouraging his co-workers to persue their goals and helped many to achieve their journeyman trade status. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed buying and selling homes that he and his wife Darlene renovated. They also enjoyed the years that they were able to spend winters in Arizona and he will be missed dearly by all his friends and family.
