Ring Kinniburgh

1921 - 2016

Roscoe Boddy Kinniburgh, beloved husband of the late Barbara Kinniburgh, passed away in Taber on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the age of 95 years.

A private funeral service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Dad will be forever remembered by his children Barry (Sandra) Kinniburgh of Taber, Alan (Judi) Kinniburgh of Spruce Grove, Louise (John) Thodt of Hamilton, Ontario and Ron (Shauna) Kinniburgh of Calgary. He also leaves behind his thirteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Barbara in 2001 along with his two brothers Jack in 1991 and Scott in 1994.

Ring, the son of William and Zelda Kinniburgh, was born in Lethbridge on August 28, 1921. His early life was spent on the Kinniburgh farm south of Purple Springs. Ring met the love of his life, Barbara Bell, while in high school. They were married in Taber on December 26, 1943. Ring and Barbara lived on the farm before moving into Taber in 1959. He continued to farm until 1970 when he went to work for the MD of Taber. Besides his wife, Ring’s loves were fishing, hunting, camping and times with his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humour and love for people and life. Dad was a great gardener and would gladly trade his produce for anything sweet, especially pie.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ring’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choice.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thankfulness to Dr. Torrie and the staff at the Taber Hospital.
