Leo Kress

1922 - 2016

Leo Kress, beloved husband of Henrietta Kress, passed away in Taber on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the age of 94 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7:00 P.M.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Private burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Besides Henrietta his loving wife of seventy years, he is survived by their children Jerome Kress of Vulcan, Marcel (Irene) Kress of Taber, Georgette (Jerry) Sauvé of Taber, Bill (Janell) Kress of Barnwell and Steve (Wilma) Kress of Taber; daughter-in-law Pat Derksen of Taber; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers Benjamin (Margaret) Kress and David (Eva) Kress; sisters-in-law Mary Kress and Shirley Kress; brother-in-law Eugene Mehlhaff as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Barbara Kress; two sons Chris Kress and Samuel Kress; grandson Corey Kress; five sisters Angeline (Andrew) Bolen, Aggie (Paul) Proust, Cecilia (Dan) Weisgerber, Leona Mehlhaff and Teddy (George) Wolosuk; four brothers Dan (Alarine) Kress, Jack Kress, Edward Kress, Barney Kress and John (Cleofae) Kress.

Leo was born March 27, 1922 in Malta, Montana. He was raised on the farm. On May 14, 1946 he married Henrietta Matt. He continued farming before later working in construction. Leo enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and doing puzzles. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all.
