Megan Kondor

1997 - 2016

Heaven has gained a beautiful angel, Megan Renae Kondor, who left us too soon following a tragic car accident on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the age of 18 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, February 29, 2016 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Vauxhall Cemetery.

Besides her loving and devoted parents, Martin and Benita of Vauxhall, she is survived by her siblings Aimee and Blake. She is also survived by her opa Clem Bexte, grandpa and grandma Al and Jeannette Kondor; uncles and aunts Bev (George) VanderGaast, Murray (Joy) Bexte, Bonnie (Ken) Anton, Chris (Barry) Kostiuk, Steve (Tracy) Kondor, Yvonne Millette, Tracey (Mike) Collard, Brian (Michele) Kondor as well as numerous very special cousins, teammates and friends.

She was predeceased by her grandma Tina Bexte and great grandma Teresa Baker.

Megan was born on September 6, 1997 in Taber, the first born child to Martin and Benita. She attended Vauxhall Elementary and Junior/Senior High Schools. She was currently enrolled in the nursing program at Medicine Hat College.

Megan’s passion from an early age was sports of any kind, beginning with jumping out of her crib at ten months, to becoming a competitive gymnast. This was followed by numerous school sports including volleyball, softball and her greatest love, basketball. She excelled scholastically and set high standards for herself, receiving numerous awards in both sports and academics.

Megan was a joy to everyone blessed enough to know her. Due to her faith in God, she put others’ needs and happiness before her own; these traits would have served her well in the nursing profession that she chose. Her life ended in the same compassionate way, as she helped six families by granting them new life through the donation of her organs.

Megan shared a special bond with her best friend and sister, Aimee. They supported and relied on each other through their life’s triumphs and sorrows. Megan was an excellent role model for her brother Blake and encouraged him to achieve greatness in all that he did.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Megan’s name may be made directly to STARS, 1441 Aviation Park NE, PO Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7 www.stars.ca or to the Human Organ Procurement and Exchange Program (HOPE), Room 9423, Aberhart Building, 11402 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2J3.
