Walter was born August 18, 1947. He grew up in Taber where he spent most of his life. He always spoke fondly of his time working for Doc Allen as a veterinarian assistant. Walter spent twenty years delivering fuel for Imperial Oil. During that time, he was a volunteer firefighter putting his heart and his soul into it. He was a janitor for the Horizon School Division where he developed a following of the kids that loved him. At church, he became the greeter, rewarding any child after they had given him a nice, proper hand shake. These last years, no matter how big of a grump he had on, his grand nieces and nephews always brought a smile to his face and a giant laugh from his belly.
If friends so desire, memorial tribute’s in Walter’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 204, 2323 - 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 6Z3 (www. diabetes.ca).
