Albert Kalvi
1923 - 2015
Albert Kalvi, beloved husband of Josephine, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the age of 92 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 5:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Besides his loving wife Josephine, Albert is survived by their sons Joseph of Lethbridge and John of Dana Point, California; daughter-in-law Linda of Cambridge, Ontario; grandchildren Jason Bronco, Curtis Andrew, LeAnna Lee, Lexington Rachel, Madison Leonard and great granddaughter Marley Grace.
He was predeceased by his son Bronco, daughter-in-law Laurel Lee, his two brothers Petar and Ivo in Croatia, and his infant sons Drago and Zdenko in Croatia.
Albert was born in Gornja Obrijez, Croatia. He moved to France where he learned much of his trade, and yet to find a better life he packed up his young family and immigrated to Canada in the winter of 1959. Albert and Josephine settled down in Taber where he worked as a carpenter, eventually retiring in Lethbridge. With little education, he still managed to make a living to support his family. He was so grateful to all those who helped him along the way. In his spare time, Albert loved to entertain family and friends. He has returned home but will forever be remembered.
