JOHN FAJNOR

1935 - 2009

John Fajnor of Claresholm (recently of Taber), passed away peacefully in Taber on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the age of 73 years.
John is survived by his son Randy (Julie) Fajnor of Taber and their children Shaun (Katia), Darren (Trish), Neil, Megan & Lynden; daughter Laurie Fajnor Gregus of Taber and her children Amber & Kendon; son Darcy Fajnor of Brooks. John is survived by a sister Ann Roy and her son Tim; sister-in-law Anna Fajnor, Anna’s daughter Lisa (Brad) Wall and their daughter Makaeo and Anna’s son David. He is also survived by his nephew Bradley Fajnor and niece Vanessa Fajnor.
John was predeceased by his parents and his brother George.
John was the son of Czechoslovakian immigrants George and Katherina Fajnor who settled in the Iron Springs area. John attended High school in Picture Butte. Upon the death of his father, John took over farming the family homestead for several years and later an adjacent quarter section. John had a love of music, playing the guitar, accordion and mouth organ and enjoyed playing in locals bands when he was younger. John attended Lethbridge College and Olds College and received his fourth class steam engineering ticket and a degree in horticulture. Upon retiring from farming, he worked several years using these skills.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Richard Brown of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lethbridge, officiating.
