RELL FRANCIS

1921 - 2009

Rell Gordon Francis, beloved husband of LaRue Francis, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the age of 87 years.
Left to mourn is LaRue, his beloved wife of 62 years; his children, Michael (Dawn) Francis of Orem, Utah; Greg (Shirley) Francis of Taber; Kim (Jenny) Francis of Taber; Kathryn (Doug) Turner of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia; fourteen precious grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, three sisters and their families, all of whom will miss him greatly.
He was predeceased by his parents Edwin & Eva Francis, three brothers, an infant son Christopher and two infant great grandsons, Ethan and Parker.
Rell was born May 3, 1921 in Taber where he resided all of his life except for the few years he attended university in Provo, Utah where he met LaRue.
Rell was well known in the Taber area for his many years of service as a teacher, administrator and friend. He dedicated his life to his wife and family, to his church, colleagues and friends. He freely and generously shared his gifts and expertise in music with all; either singing or playing his violin whenever and wherever he was called upon to do so.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 10, 2009 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, April 11, 2009 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Kim Francis conducting. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
