Mylina was born in Taber on March 12, 1932 to Barbara and Andrew Wasut. She grew up on the family farm south of Taber, the same farm she raised her seven children on. Mylina worked on the farm doing everything from hoeing beets in the morning, baking cinnamon buns in the afternoon and then making supper in the evening. Working from morning till night was her expression of love to her children. Mylina moved into town in 1975 and has resided there until her passing. She loved working in her yard, tending flowers, gardening and especially harvesting red beets to make her famous borscht soup. Most of all spending time with her family was what Mylina lived for. Her home was open to all that came. She had seven children of her own and many additions along the way. Mylina worked as a janitor at the medical clinic and then at the hospital as a cook. She will be remembered as one of the best cooks there for fifteen plus years. Just ask some of the doctors about her cinnamon buns, she was famous for them. Mylina somehow managed to find time for herself to go to B-I-N-G-O! She also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with her many good friends. Mylina will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her children who she was the rock and foundation to.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 5:00 P.M.
