EDNA FOULKES
1919 - 2014
Lillian Edna Foulkes (nee Marose), passed away peacefully in Taber on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the age of 95 years.
A private service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Edna is survived by her four children Marvin of Edmonton, Linda (Bob) Schrag of Calgary, Bob of Vancouver and Bonny (Les) Jespersen of Barnwell. Her eight surviving grandchildren are Michael (Angela) Foulkes of Sooke, British Columbia, Andrew (Karin) Schrag of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Leandra Schrag of Calgary, Alexa Gregg of Calgary, Kristen (Christopher) Drozda of Basel, Switzerland, Blair Foulkes of Toronto, Kevin (Marievic) Jespersen of Calgary and Paul (Michelle) Jespersen of Armstrong, British Columbia. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren Nolan and Matthew of Sooke, British Columbia, Zachary, Emily and Katarina of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Benjamin and Katelynn of Calgary, Jaylynn of Armstrong, British Columbia and Dane of Calgary as well as by her sister Glen Horrocks.
She was predeceased by her husband Maurice who passed away in March 1991, sister Thelma (Art) Reamsbottom, brother Louis (Ramona) Weston Marose and brother-in-law Harry Horrocks.
Edna was a lifetime resident of Taber. She was born in Taber, schooled at the Mount Pellier country school near Horsefly Lake south of Taber and worked in the Taber area until she married Maurice in 1941. Maurice and Edna made their home in Taber after his service in the Army during World War II, living in the same two houses for their adult lives.
They were active members of the Loyal Order of Moose, Edna was a lifelong supporter of the United Church and a member of the Oil Wives club of Taber. Edna was a hard-working, energetic and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by her many friends and family.
