She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Claudia Zbrodoff, brother Serge Zbrodoff and sister-in-laws Shirley Zbrodoff and Christine Zbrodoff.
Marie was born on September 10, 1944 in Braunschweig, Germany. She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of seven and resided in Vauxhall almost her entire life. In addition to raising her children, Marie worked as a hairdresser in Vauxhall for the past thirty five years. She never officially retired so that she could take care of “her ladies" every week. She loved to cook, took pride in her vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed get togethers with family and friends. She was also the best Nan ever.
Marie was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in February. Although a cure was not to be, she never gave up hope.
If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Marie’s name be made directly to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9 or to St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, 1400 - 9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4V5.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at both facilities who helped care for Marie during her illness. “We are so grateful and please know, that your actions truly make the world a better place”.
