KATHY EGELAND
1938 - 2014
Kathleen Edith Egeland of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Art Egeland and dearest companion of Edwin, passed away unexpectedly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the age of 75 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Enchant Community Hall, 121 Center Street, Enchant on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeffery Frostad officiating. Burial followed at the Enchant Cemetery.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her family Brenda (Clarence) Severtson of Enchant, Mark Lindstedt of Lomond, Brian (Peggy) Egeland of Gibbons, Randall (Tanya) Egeland of Bow Island and Galvin (Christine) Egeland of Milo; seven grandchildren Jennifer (Gord) Pittman, Brad (Paige) Severtson, Kolin (Jill) Lindstedt, Dave Lee, Kevin (Naomi) Lindstedt, Jamie (Stephanie) Lindstedt and Jesse (Kelly) Egeland; eleven great grandchildren Aaron, Cheyenne and Desiree Pittman, Carson, Grady and Lila Severtson, Koral and Alaya Lindstedt, Noah Lindstedt, Elizabeth and Myles Lindstedt. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Shirley) Taylor; Art’s siblings and spouses Taletta Dorchak, Olai (Suzy) Egeland, Magnus Egeland, Otto Egeland, Alma (Ray) Osberg, Gordon (Carol) Egeland, Gladys Hagen (Edwin Aanestad), Butch (Wendy) Egeland and Gloria Schwehr as well as many nieces and nephews, Edwin’s family and special friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Art, daughter Marlene, parents Albert and Edith Clark, brother Fred and his wife Agnes Taylor, sister Jean and her husband Elmer Tayes, mother and father-in-law Anna and Oscar Egeland, brothers-in-law Carl Egeland and Orville Dorchak and niece Yvonne Sadek.
Kathy was born in England on June 10, 1938 and immigrated to British Columbia in 1946 with her mother. She married Arthur Egeland in 1954. They farmed for many years in Enchant before retiring to Coaldale. Above all else, mom loved her family and always went above and beyond to ensure everyone’s needs were met. She enjoyed gardening, playing music, family gatherings and was the very best cook.
