1943 - 2014

Lorraine Wilma Peters, beloved wife of the late Jim Peters, passed away in Taber on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the age of 71 years. She was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on January 2, 1943.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, January 27, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Lorraine is survived by her children Laurie Melanson of Calgary, Jimmy (Yvonne) Herron of Beaverdell, British Columbia, Kenny Herron of Grande Prairie, Onie MacDougall of Taber and Tina (Dale) Herron of Lethbridge; Eleven grandchildren Billy Herron of Beaverdell, British Columbia, Mike Hiney of Carmi, British Columbia, Falishia Herron of Grande Prairie, Kodie Herron of Grande Prairie, Crystal (JB) Genert of Taber, Dennis (Margaret) Lebeuf of Taber, Farine Herron of Texas, Faith Herron of Lethbridge, Travis Herron of Lethbridge, Trina Herron of Lethbridge, Dallas MacDougall of Lethbridge and also by fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Garry (Karen) Melanson of Raymond and sisters Shirley Burns of Grande Prairie, Patsy (Clarence) Friesen of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Toni (Gary) Stevenson of Fort Saskatchewan and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim Peters, father Laurie Melanson, mother Florence Filgas, stepfather Lloyd Filgas, sister Rose Fairhurst and brother Larry Melanson.
We will miss her dearly. She was loved by all who knew her and influenced many with her kindness and her love.
