He moved with his family to Taber in 1980 and was employed at Taber Feeds until he retired in 2004.
Aart was a proud Canadian, but was always also proud of his Dutch heritage. He was honoured for many years to lay a wreath on behalf of the Dutch Canadian community during Remembrance Day services.
Aart leaves behind for his family and all who knew him a legacy of faith, perseverance, contentment and thankfulness, regardless of any difficulties in the journey of life. His greatest joy was his Lord and he would often say “never fear, the Lord is always near”. Aart also enjoyed all family celebrations and was a man of peace and integrity. He was very visible in the Taber community and loved to socialize with all who crossed his path.
