1928 - 2013

Joyce Marie Wolosuk (nee Dayton), beloved wife of Harry Wolosuk, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the age of 85 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, September 15, 2013 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private burial service was held at the Vauxhall Cemetery prior to the funeral service on Monday, September 16, 2013.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Aldeen McKay officiating.
Besides Harry, her sweetheart of nearly sixty five years, Joyce is survived by their children Doug (Dolores) Wolosuk, John (Deb) Wolosuk, Sylvia Bosch all of Vauxhall and son-in-law Gerry Snell of Calgary; nine grandchildren Mark (Heidi) Snell, Kris (Carla) Wolosuk, Tim Snell, Serena Snaith (Tony Fornier), Jamie (Aaron) Mack, Nicole Wolosuk, Julia Wolosuk (Keith McDonald), Bobby Bosch, Ami (Tyler) Kinniburgh and twenty two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jack (Donna) Dayton, sister-in-law Mary (John) Haugen, brother-in-law Nick Wolosuk and by numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce will be fondly remembered by Linda (Art) Thiessen, whom she often referred to as another daughter and by special friends Avis Ostafichuk and Mary Stevenson.
She was predeceased by her parents Elsie and Jack Dayton; daughter Carol Snell; son-in-law Andrew Bosch; sister Shirley Reid; sisters-in-law Anne Jensen and Teddy Wolosuk; brothers-in-law Howard Jensen, Jim Reid Sr. and George Wolosuk.
Joyce was born July 9, 1928 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, the eldest child of Elsie and Jack Dayton. She grew up in the Maritimes. When Joyce was a teen, the family moved to Calgary. From there, she moved to Medicine Hat to work in the Ogilvie Flour Mill and later worked as a tele-typist for the Canadian Pacific Railway. She transferred to Lethbridge where she met Harry. They were married March 16, 1949 and moved to the farm north east of Vauxhall where they raised four children. They farmed grain, sugar beets, peas and raised cattle. They resided on the farm until 2005 when they moved to Martha’s House in Lethbridge.
