RON FELDBUSCH
1942 - 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle, Ronald Herman Feldbusch, on Tuesday June 18, 2013 with family by his side. He was 71 years of age.
A private burial service was held at the Vauxhall Cemetery.
Ron is survived by his children Joanne (Kevin) Wickenheiser of Barnwell and their children Amanda (Matt) Nelson, Brandi Olson (fiancé Kyle Banadyga), Lane Olson and Cole Wickenheiser (Shauna Gregus); Al (Sheri) Feldbusch of Coaldale and their children Troy, Bryce and Tessa; Cody Feldbusch (Amanda Rombough) of Lethbridge; Tami (Mike) Barnes of Crossfield and their children Zach and Emma. He is also survived by his sister Joyce (Karl) McAughey of Ardrossan, his brother William (Carole) Feldbusch of Carberry, Manitoba and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Herman and Edna (nee Wheelan) Feldbusch.
Ron was born in Lethbridge on April 14, 1942 and resided in Vauxhall his entire life, where he also received his schooling. At the age of seventeen, he served with the Royal Canadian Navy on both the East and West Coast for two years. He was a “Jack of All Trades”. Following his stint in the Navy, Ron worked for his parents at the family butcher shop and later worked with his father Herman at the John Deere dealership, Feldbusch Sales & Service. Along with his father, they also owned and operated a tire shop in Vauxhall. Ron and Herman then moved onto farming for many years until Herman’s retirement. Ron then worked for the Town of Vauxhall before becoming a part owner of Grantham Oilfield Maintenance for a number of years. Recently, Ron retired from the Government (Vauxhall) Agricultural Research Station after fifteen years of service, where his love of farming was certainly an asset.
He had a great sense of humour. He loved to have a good time and laugh with everyone he encountered. Branding season was a favorite time for Ron, getting together with family, friends and neighbours for the annual events. He also loved gardening and enjoyed cooking. The family favorites were his spaghetti sauce, chili and a variety of soups. He also enjoyed auction sales and antique shows.
Ron would often say that he had a blessed life, having been married to two beautiful women (Judy Wright and Jan Stickel) and to have four great kids.
