Thelma Irene Selman (nee Bobinec), passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the age of 70 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, June 15, 2013 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Raymond Stake Centre, 2 North - 200 West, Raymond on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Brian Freeze conducting. Burial followed at Temple Hill Cemetery.
Thelma is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Wes and their five children Wade (Heidi) Selman, Wendy (Mark) Heninger, Mark (Laurie) Selman, Lara (Rod) Kindt and Letta (Jeff) Olsen as well as seventeen grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Fred (Sharon) Bobinec, sisters Bernice (Kent) Rolfson and Loretta (Wayne) Stanley.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Dorothy Bobinec, sister-in-law Grace Kubota, brother-in-law William Stix as well as a nephew Daniel Stix.
Thelma spent her formative years on the family farm in the Readymade district, where she had fond family memories and learned how to work hard.
On January 20, 1962 she married Wes Selman and lived in Calgary until 1976 when they moved to Raymond and resided there until her passing.
Her home was a gathering place for family and friends where everyone was welcome, especially on holidays and special occasions.
She was a genuine and compassionate person, who accepted anyone without judgment. Thelma was a loyal friend and loved to have fun. She maintained her sense of humor right up to the end.
Thelma loved her children and grandchildren and always let them know of her love for them. She was especially proud of her two grandsons presently serving missions, Kinsey Kindt serving in Argentina and Ty Olsen serving in Mexico.
Thelma had endured health problems over the years and is now at rest reunited with loved ones who have gone on before.
Her passing is bittersweet. We will miss her, but take comfort in the knowledge that we will be with her again.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rodney Kindt.
