1919 - 2013

Lois Edith Evangeline Porter, beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Porter, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the age of 93 years.
A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
The Funeral Service was held at First Baptist Church, 1614 - 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.
Lois is survived by her daughter Donna (Ed) Mykytiuk and son Shane (Dianne) Porter all of Lethbridge; four grandchildren Blayne Thomas of Lethbridge, Jill (Bruce) Cassidy of Lethbridge, Tom (Bobbi) Porter of Prince Albert and Laura (Gabor) Bart of Calgary; four great grandchildren Brennen and Sarah Cassidy, Brandon and Victoria Bart; sister Eileen (Steve) Forchuk of Trenton, Ontario as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill Porter, father Bert Warren, mother Sara Warren (nee Matheson), brother Archie Warren and sister-in-law Margaret Warren.
Lois was born on August 19, 1919 in Picture Butte, where she was also raised. On October 27, 1939 she married William (Bill) Porter of Taber and moved there. After many moves, they settled down in Lethbridge in 1945 and resided there for twenty four becoming an active member of the First Baptist Church. In 1969 they moved to Vauxhall where they owned and operated Warren-Porter Agencies. She transferred her church membership to the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church. For six years Lois served on the Vauxhall Town Council, three of which she served as mayor.
