ANNE SEIERSTAD

1918 - 2000

Anne Alberta Seierstad (nee Coultis, formerly Konrad) of Vauxhall, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, October 23, 2000 at the age 81 years after a short illness.
Anne is survived by her son Derrek (Ellen) Konrad of Nipawin, Saskatchewan and her daughter Sandra Konrad of Edmonton; her grandchildren, Rae-Anne, Dana (Paul), Lindsey, Jay, Leta (Derreck) and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Emmett, Daisy and Maya. Anne is also survived by her sisters Blanche Coultis, Irene (Vic) Vanderloh, Dorothy (Doug) Williams and Bea McBride; a sister-in-law Joyce Coultis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul Konrad; three brothers George, Bert and John Coultis; two sisters Violet Harron and Bette Gage. Anne was divorced from John Seierstad.
She was born at Steveville, Alberta and raised her family at Tilley and Vauxhall. Anne was employed at the Tilley Post Office in the 1950’s and was the Administrator of the Town of Vauxhall from 1967 to 1982. She was a member of Parkview United Church in Vauxhall and the United Church Women, Vauxhall Senior Citizens, Order of the Eastern Star Helen Chapter and the Community Chest. She enjoyed curling, bridge and travelling. She will be remembered for her commitment to her family, church, friends and community.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, October 26, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Saturday, October 28, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Aldeen McKay of the United Church of Canada officiating. Burial to take place at a later date at the Cravath Corners Cemetery in the family plot.
