STANLEY TYO

1925 - 2000

Stanley Tyo, beloved husband of the late Doreen Tyo, passed away in Taber, on Sunday, September 17, 2000 at the age of 75 years.
Stan was born the son of Don and Gladys Tyo on February 14, 1925 at the Cameron Farms Camp 3 in the Retlaw area. He operated a sawmill in Innisfail for a period of time before returning to the family farm in the Retlaw area. In 1955, he met and then married Doreen Allen.
Stan is survived by his children, Allen of Retlaw; James (Brenda) and their children Katie, Shane, and Jesse of Taber; Will (Tina) of Vauxhall; Don (Glory and her daughter Destiny) of Vauxhall; Russell and his daughter Kala of Vauxhall; and Tracey (Clayton) Young and their children John and Jamie of Forestburg. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rose Tyo of Taber and his niece Fran (Francie) Dogterom of Taber and their family. Stan was predeceased by his wife Doreen February 6, 1991; his parents and brother James.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 19, 2000 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Retlaw Church on Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Doug Shimoda officiating. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
