MARY KRAUSE
1918 - 2000
Mary Krause (nee Nugent) of Taber, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Taber Continuing Care Facility on Thanksgiving day, Monday, October 9, 2000 at the age of 82 years.
Sam, also of Taber Continuing Care, her beloved husband of 62 years cherished her, as did their 13 children all born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan; Elaine Husband of Calgary, Alberta; Vivian McDonald of Calgary, Alberta; Joan (Dave) Paradee of Taber; Allen (Ronnie) Krause of Mississauga, Ontario; Evelyn (Emile) Thibodeau of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan; Shirley Krause of Regina, Saskatchewan; Betty Lou (Bill) Wyatt of Elkford, British Columbia; Julie Krause (Kenny Shields) of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Tina Krause (Doug Rusu) of Edmonton, Alberta; Robert (Wendy) Krause of Victoria, British Columbia; Cathy (Bruce) Williams of Onoway, Alberta; Lisa (Kerry) Wilson of Sherwood Park, Alberta; and Celeste (deceased in 1983). Also celebrating her life are 20 grandchildren; Mary Lou McDonald, Diane (Martin) Suits, Natalie (Mark) Knudsen, Corrie (Yolanda) Kilback, Brian McDonald, Melanie (Doug) Dechant, Kim Krause (Randy Loy), Curtis (Kandy) Paradee, Trevor Thibodeau, Brad Krause, Craig Krause, Alissia (Dave) Sawicki, Leslie Paradee (Derrick Horlings), Cindy Kilback, Trina Wyatt (Jason Larson), Carrie Williams (Troy Murray), Angie Krause, Kelly Williams, Steven Krause and Julia Shields.
Also precious to her were thirteen great-grandchildren; Marissa Knudsen, Brittany Knudsen, Samantha Paradee, Bradyn Johnson-Plant, Robin Paradee, Rebecca Johnson-Plant, Michael Paradee, Lyndon Kilback, Logan Dechant, Seanna Knudsen, Dolan Kilback, Alyssa Dechant and Sarah Loy. She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Poland of Montreal, Quebec and Francis Jones (Leonard Devlin) of Colfax, Washington; one brother Denis (Annette) Nugent of Kelowna, British Columbia and two sisters-in-law, Minnie Nugent of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan and Iris Nugent of Toronto, Ontario as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her youngest daughter Celeste; her parents Celia and Lewis Nugent; two brothers, Larry and Gerald Nugent and a brother-in-law Jim Poland.
Mary was born on March 1, 1918 on a farm north of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. She attended college in Regina and worked for the Prairie Optimist Newspaper prior to marrying Sam Krause in 1938. The family moved to Taber in 1971 where Mary became an active member of the community and made many cherished friends. Last year, Mary was awarded a Lifetime Membership by the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Taber.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel 5006 - 48 Avenue Taber, on Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church 5009 - 48 Avenue Taber, on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Jim de los Angeles Celebrant.
