MARGARET ELGIE

1923 - 2001

Margaret Elvira (Johnson) Elgie of Taber, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2001 at the age of 78 years.
Margaret was born November 21, 1923 at Imperial, Saskatchewan. She was raised in Saskatchewan until the family moved to Vancouver, where at 18 years of age she joined the Army. Life was always a challenge for Margaret, raising seven children on her own.
She will sadly be missed by her children Pat (Gordon) Miller, Marion (Bill) Beetstra, Clifford (Judy) Elgie, Evelyn Elgie (friend Marcus Coneys), Shirley (Paul) Gow; daughter-in-law Shirley Elgie; sister Hazel Bysterveld; nineteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren, one niece and two nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Karl and Lilian Johnson; brother-in-law John Bysterveld; two sons Norman and Edward; a great grandson Austin Elgie and a nephew Neil Bysterveld.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Parkview United Church, 712 - 3 Avenue North, Vauxhall on Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating.
