KATA DEBONA

1945 - 2008

Kata DeBona, beloved wife of Nick DeBona of Taber, passed away in Taber on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the age of 62 years.
Kata was born October 19, 1945 in Yugoslavia to Ivan and Elvira Pustaj. She was raised and educated in Yugoslavia and married Nick DeBona on December 9, 1963. Together, with their children Blazenka and Klarica, they came to Canada in 1969. A third daughter Mary was born in Canada. Kata enjoyed gardening, baking and walks. Her family meant everything to her as well as her dog Angel. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Besides her loving husband Nick she is survived by her children Blazenka (Roger) Knibb, Klarica (Roy) Skidmore and Mary (Marvin) McNutt all of Taber; grandchildren Tina (Dave) Seamans, Denny Knibb, Ricky Knibb, Jennifer Skidmore, Christopher McNutt, Ashley McNutt and Matthew McNutt; brothers Tony DeMartini and Ivan Pustaj as well as numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Ivan and Elvira Pustaj and a brother Josip Pustaj.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009-48 Ave., Taber on Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant. Burial to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
