PETE ZUIDHOF
1929 - 2012

Early in the morning of Father’s Day, June 17, 2012, the Lord, in his amazing grace, took Peter Zuidhof, beloved husband of Frederika Zuidhof, unto Himself. Peter passed away peacefully in Taber at the age of 83 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private family burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.
The Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Zondervan officiating.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Frederika and their children Wilma Wood of Edmonton and her two children Rachel and Adam; Peter (Trudy) Zuidhof of Edmonton and their two children Nathan (Julia) and Dustin; Henry Zuidhof of Fort McMurray and his three children Deanna, Kane, John and stepdaughter Marie-Eve (and their mother Caroline); Ken (Roberta) Zuidhof of Taber and their two children David (Sheri) and their son Joel, Chris (Natalie) and their children Ryker, Kayla and Blakelee; Tonia (Gary) Bills of Okotoks and their four children Jordan, Amy (Shane) and their two children Brody and Seth, Meagan (Casey) and their son Jack, Kaylee (Justin) and their children Brayden and Tyler; Karen (Del) Capner of Taber and their two children Lauren (Brandon) and their children Haven and Ryder, Erika (Sean). He is also survived by two sisters Greta Winter, Afina (Jack) Quartel and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Tryntje Zuidhof; brothers Bill Zuidhof and Martin Zuidhof; grandson Jeremy Zuidhof; son-in-law Alan Wood; brother-in-law John Winter; sisters-in-law Hilda and Nellie Zuidhof.
Peter was born on March 19, 1929 in Oterdum, Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1949, first to Granum where he stayed the summer and then moved to Ontario until the rest of the family came to Canada in 1951. He came back to Alberta where he stayed at Cranford with his family. It was there that he met his beautiful wife Frederika Klok. They married on May 25, 1952 and lived together for sixty years until May 25, 2012, the day he was admitted to the Taber Hospital.
