DORIS SEMAKA
1923 - 2012
Doris Margaret Semaka, beloved wife of the late Frank Semaka, passed away in Taber on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 - 44 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Canon James Robinson officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
She is survived by her daughters Joan (Rollie) and Lillian (Bert) all of Lethbridge; grandchildren Alanna (Joel), Danielle (Dell) and Adam; great grandchildren Jake and Taya.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank Semaka, parents Fred and Lillian Dowie and sister Patty.
Doris was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on November 2, 1923 and was raised in Mendham, Saskatchewan on the family farm. Following grade school she attended normal school in Edmonton. Her teaching career took her to various communities over the years.
Doris met Frank Semaka while at normal school and they were married August 15, 1953 in Lethbridge. Taber eventually became home where she resided until the time of her passing. Doris loved to sew and also enjoyed baking, especially when she could make a birthday cake for members of her family. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who hold her dear in their hearts.
