SUSAN DE GROOT

1932 - 2012

On April 6, 2012, after a life of almost 80 years, our beloved mother, oma, great grandmother and sister, Susan De Groot went to be with God.
The Burial Service will be held at the Burdett Cemetery on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 9:30 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, 214 - 4 Avenue West, Bow Island on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Roger Lobb officiating.
Susan will be lovingly remembered by her children Joanne De Groot (Jon Triemstra) of Carmangay, Wilma (John) Koenderman of Burdett, Deborah De Groot of Medicine Hat and John (Afiena) De Groot of Arthur, Ontario; grandchildren Benji, Kim, Jay (Christine), Paul (Tasha), Mike, Cathy (Thad), Kevin (Tiff), William, Rachel, Andrew (Sarah), Mandy and Nicole; great grandchildren Shelby, Joshua, James, Savannah, Janae, Mason, Jade, Myles, Dante and Brayden. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Albert (Shirley) Van Belle, Nell (Lowell) Witvoet, Harry (Jenny) Van Belle, Carol Van Belle, Emma (Jake) Dykstra and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Arie De Groot on October 21, 1968 and her grandson Joshua De Groot on December 30, 1999.
Susan was born in Rijnsburg, The Netherlands on May 6, 1932. She lived her long and eventful life on two continents, in two countries and in two provinces. She gave birth to and raised four children and in her life time was an active member of the church community in the place where she lived.
