1937 - 2012

Iris Wilson (nee Easthope), beloved wife of the late Leland Wilson, passed away in Taber on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the age of 74 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, March 19, 2012 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Ken Holst conducting. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Iris is survived by two daughters Carol (Ron) Visser of Taber, her children Jesse Witwer, Dakota Witwer, Nicole Payne (Dustin Jeffrey) and their children Morgan Iris and Taven; Joanna Wilson of Taber. She is also survived by her brother Evan (Kaye) Easthope and sister Elaine (Lyle) Robinson; two sisters-in-law Maxine Easthope and Audrey (Harold) Rowe; three brothers-in-law Gareth (Diane) Wilson, Dale (Brenda) Wilson, Keith Edwards and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leland Wilson in 2006.
Iris was born in Taber September 3, 1937 to Samuel “Roy” and Della Easthope. She married Leland Wilson July 12, 1961. They raised their daughters on the family farm north of Taber.
Iris enjoyed handicrafts, music and gardening. She was active for many years in community volunteer work. Iris enjoyed reading and spent many enjoyable hours writing cowboy poetry.
