ORVAL SHOCKEY
1929 - 2012
Orval David “O.D.” Shockey, beloved husband of Sharon Shockey, passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre in Lethbridge on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 82 years with his family by his side.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, March 2, 2012 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and prior to the funeral service on Saturday, March 3, 2012 between 2:00 P.M. and 2:40 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. with President Richard Sugden conducting. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Orval is survived by his beloved wife Sharon (nee Wills) and their children Linda Shockey, Valerie (Doug) Holland, Parry Shockey, Brian (Jill) Shockey, and Rod (Jackie) Shockey. He also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer (Bruce) Lee, David (Jolie) Holland, Lori (Jason) McIlwain; John (Deanne) Shockey, Josh (Jennie) Shockey, Regan (Joel) Williams, Kwynne (Dane) Hendry and their mother Adair Gardner; Brandt Skriver, Justin (Naomi) Skriver, Cayley (Doug) Pierzchala and Cobie Shockey. He will be missed by his great grandchildren Kayla and Ben Lee; Carson, Chloe and Crew Holland; Ethan McIlwain; Hillary, Beau, Jackson, Tyson and Brock Shockey; Maquire and Anderson Williams; Molly Hendry and Ryan Hankey. He is also survived by his sisters Daisy Collett, Betty Schmidt, Kathy (David) Evans and his brother Verle (Mary Ann) Shockey; sister-in-law Marg Shockey, brothers-in-law Garland Hoel and Darcy (Laura) Wills; sisters-in-law Maureen Paterson, Louise Krchnak, Shelby MacLeod, Cecilie (Duncan) Fleming and Rae Shockey as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friend of the family Marcia McEwan.
He was predeceased by his parents Ed and Ella Shockey; brothers Lum Shockey and Roy Shockey; sister Mavis Hoel; sister-in-law Barbara Shockey; brothers-in-law Harold Collett and Bill Schmidt; niece Michelle Shockey and nephew Todd Evans. He was also predeceased by Sharon’s parents Tucky and Mabel Wills; brothers-in-law Blair Wills, Bruce Wills, Len Krchnak, Robert Paterson and niece Marina Krchnak.
