Frances Rose Pavka, beloved wife of the late John Pavka, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the age of 70 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 5:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa Celebrant. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Frances is survived by her daughter Kathy Collett of Taber and son Richard Pavka of Cranford; granddaughters Tara, Tasha and Serena Collett. She is also survived by her brothers Frank (Virginia) Badura, Joe Badura and Charlie (Mary) Badura; sisters Mary (Joe) Kusalik, Lydia (Henry) Brecka, Ann Cudrak, Mildred (Peter) Braat, Helen (Steve) Zadnik and Rosie Badura; brother-in-law Miles (Janice) Pavka and Jake Braat; sisters-in-law Mary Kubik, Pat Powell and Nina Skretting as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John; son-in-law Michael Collett; parents Floyd and Frances Badura; brother John Badura; sister Elizabeth Braat; father and mother-in-law John Sr. and Katerina Pavka; brothers-in-law Frank Cudrak and Frank Kubik.
Frances was born at Taber on May 8, 1941. She was raised on the family farm and received her schooling in Taber. Frances married John Pavka and they moved to Cranford where they farmed together. They remained in Cranford until John passed away at which time Frances moved to Taber. Frances spent a few years working at the Taber Child Care Centre where she enjoyed working with the children. She was active in the C.W.L. Frances had many hobbies including gardening, cooking as well as collecting and making porcelain figurines. She was a loving and caring mother who was especially proud of her family. She loved spending time with family and especially her granddaughters.
