KATHRYN SAWKA

1957 - 2001

Kathryn Anne “Kathy” Sawka, beloved wife of John Sawka of Vauxhall, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the age of 43 years.
Kathy was born on December 28, 1957 in Taber the daughter of Frank and Lena Janzen. She was raised in Vauxhall where she received her schooling. On December 17, 1976 she married John Sawka. Kathy and John have resided in Vauxhall where she enjoyed gardening, family and being close to her grandchildren. Kathy also liked to spend time with her family going camping and travelling.
She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her husband John and their children Rhonda (Todd) Gould of Vauxhall, Amanda and her fiance’ Tracy Dunsmore of Enchant and Brad Sawka of Vauxhall; two grandchildren, Wesley and Taylor Gould; her mother Lena Janzen of Vauxhall; brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Aron) Petkau, Robert (Anne) Janzen, Greg Janzen and Wanda (Wayne) Melnychuk; mother-in-law Mary Sawka of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was predeceased by her father Frank Janzen; a sister Carla Janzen and her father-in-law Bill Sawka.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church,320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Monday, July 16, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bill Glasspell officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
