MARISSA CHRISTENSEN
1980 - 2004
Marissa Rae (Rissy) Christensen, beloved mother of Makenzee and beloved daughter of Darrell and Jo-Ann Christensen of Taber and Bonna and Alphonse LaBrecque of St. Paul, passed away suddenly near Brooks on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at the age of 24 years.
Marissa was born January 22, 1980 at Taber, Alberta where she attended school. At the time of her passing she was making plans to attend LCC to become a social worker. Marissa, "our wildchild" was outgoing and full of life, fun and mischief. She especially enjoyed hanging out with her sisters, nieces, nephew, friends and family. The light of her life was her daughter Makenzee, born July 24, 2002. Most memorable to her was her recent trip to Mexico with her best friend Carryanne.
Marissa will be sadly missed and forever loved by her parents Bonna (Alphonse) LaBrecque and Darrell (Jo-Ann) Christensen; her daughter Makenzee Jessica Louise Moser; Makenzee's father Travis and Makenzee's brother Austyn; two sisters Corey (Chad) Hoskins and their children Kasidee, Gavin and Kaelei; Tricia (Rod) Coutts; a brother Dakota Knight; step-brothers Josh and Jordan Simek and Bradley LaBrecque; step-sisters Amanda and Janelle LaBrecque; grandparents Marvin Christensen, Freida and Bill Allan, Jack and Nora Schmidt; aunts and uncles Marilyn (Collin) Leismeister, Connie (Dan) Oberholtzer, Glenda Oberholtzer, Garry (Daniele) Schmidt, Brad (Flo) Schmidt, Karen (Zoni) Kover, Jim (Maura) Schmidt and Brenda (Reg) Jensen and numerous cousins and friends. Waiting in heaven to meet her with open arms was her Nanny (Louise Christensen).
Family and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5006-48 Ave.) Taber on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and at the Church prior to the service from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709-50 Ave. on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Ray Gardner officiating. Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation, 1820 Richmond Road S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2T 5C7, or if one so wishes, a trust fund has been established in Makenzee's name, c/o Alberta Treasury Branch Financial, 5317-48 Ave., Taber, Alberta. T1G 1S7.
