ELLEN TOLTON
1900 - 2001
Ellen Tolton of Taber, beloved wife of the late Clifford Tolton, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at the age of 100 years.
Ellen was born at Scranton, Pennsylvania on November 4, 1900 and was the daughter of John and Mary Golightly. As a young child Ellen moved to Montana. She married Jim Clark and they had a son James. Around 1927 she began working as a cook at the Tolton Ranch N.W. of Taber. In 1945 Ellen married Clifford Tolton. One of Ellen’s greatest loves was dancing. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking and often fed many of the neighbors who dropped in unexpectedly. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1992. At the time of her passing, Ellen was a resident of the Taber Continuing Care.
Ellen is survived by four grandchildren Brenda (Wendel) Weber, Mark (Carolyn) Clark, Shirley Daub and Barry Clark; three great grandchildren Jaime, Amber and Aaron; a great great granddaughter Brittney and a brother-in-law Gordon Tolton.
She was predeceased by her husband Clifford, brothers John Golightly, James Golightly and Robert Golightly and a son and daughter-in-law Jim and Vivian Clark.
The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, June 25, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead of Knox United Church officiating.
