DOLLY SHERWOOD
1912 - 2001
Juanita (Dolly) Elizabeth Sherwood passed away peacefully in Taber on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at the age of 88 years.
Dolly was predeceased by her beloved husband Clyde Sherwood in 1979; her parents Duncan James and Jean Isobel McEwen; brother Arnold; sisters Flora Ingwersen, Evelyn Thompson and Katherine McEwen.
Dolly was born in Calgary and lived most of her life in Taber. For many years Dolly and Clyde travelled with their concession stand to exhibitions and rodeos in Alberta, and for a number of years owned a confectionary store in Taber and also farmed land in Purple Springs, Alberta. Dolly was a familiar figure around Taber and earned admiration and respect for her feisty determination in coping with many health problems. She remained independent in her own home. Dolly will be missed by her nieces, great nieces and nephews and great-great niece and nephew (Calgary, Edmonton, White Rock and Dallas, Texas) and also by her numerous friends.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, March 25, 2001 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead of Knox United Church officiating. Interment took place at the Taber Memorial Garden on Monday, March 26, 2001.
A reception followed at the Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 - 48 Avenue, Taber.
