HAMAKO TSUJI
1917 - 2002
Hamako Tsuji, beloved wife of the late Juichi ‘Ted’ Tsuji, passed away peacefully at the Taber Hospital on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the age of 85 years.
Hamako is survived by a brother Shosaburo Sato of Chiba, Japan; a sister Tokiko Sato of Tokyo, Japan; special friends Ayako Endo and her son Ken of Lethbridge; stepsons Wray (Gayle) of Edmonton, Tom (Sherry) of Taber and Albert (Sheila) of Gibsons Landing, British Columbia.
She was predeceased by her husband Ted Tsuji and her brother Shinjiro Sato.
She was born February 16, 1917 in Miyagi-ken, Japan. After Normal School, she studied and became a nurse with a specialty in pediatrics. She worked as a nurse until retirement. Hamako loved flowers and was a gifted flower arranger.
In 1980 while on a trip to visit her friend Ayako Endo, she met widower Ted Tsuji. A year later, she emigrated to Canada and married him on June 14, 1981. She made Taber their home until their passing.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, November 22, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Izumi officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
The family appreciates the wonderful care she received from the staff and nurses of Taber Extended Care and the CHR Home Care, as well as the treats and gifts from friends.
