MARIA KRAHN

1917 - 2002

Maria Krahn of Taber, Alberta went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 6, 2002. She passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge at the age of 85 years.
She was born Maria Hiebert on March 29, 1917 at McMahon, Saskatchewan. She was raised there and married Jake Krahn in 1938. They moved to the Taber area in 1958 where she resided until her passing. Maria was an active volunteer serving regularly at the Thrift Store, hospital and singing with the Church choir at various homes. She was an avid gardener and was famous for her home baking and preserves.
Maria is survived by four sons Roy (Darlene) of Calgary, Tom (Lila) of Brooks, Larry (Enid) of Spruce Grove and Norm (Deb) of Redwood Meadows; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Jake, grandson Kevin, three brothers and three sisters.
Maria was a resident of the Clearview Lodge in Taber for the past four years. The Krahn family would like to thank all the staff there for their very kind, caring and compassionate care shown to her during those years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, November 10, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 p.m. A private family interment took place prior to the service.
The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 4418 - 52 Street, Taber on Monday, November 11, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ron Gartly and Pastor Harry Ruggles officiating.
