VIOLET THACKER

1937 - 2002

Violet Florence Thacker nee Biegler, beloved wife of Albert Thacker of Taber, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2002 at the age of 65 years.
Violet was born in Lethbridge on May 21, 1937 to parents Anthony and Rose Biegler. She was raised in Grassy Lake where she received her schooling and on April 9, 1956 she married Albert Thacker. They moved to Texada Island, British Columbia in 1959 where they resided until retiring to Taber in 1997. Vi enjoyed playing cards and darts, growing flowers from her greenhouse and canning. Her family was foremost in her life and she will be sadly missed.
Besides Albert, her loving husband, Vi will be forever remembered by her four children and seven grandchildren Debbie Waters of Taber and her son Matthew; Sharon (Don) Cackett of Jasper and their children Joseph and Amanda; Patricia (Dave) Dutchak of Lethbridge and their children Anthony and Melissa; Marilyn (Corwynn) Barrows of Coutts and their daughters Kimberly and Kendra; three sisters Rose (Lil) Brooks of Red Deer, Kay (Ralph) Koch of Edmonton and Gladys (Rod) Macdonald of Stony Plain; a brother Scotty (Amy) Biegler of Falkland, British Columbia; brother-in-law Phillip Gross of Grassy Lake; sisters-in-law Dolores (Dyson) Gaudet of Powell River and Dorothy Thacker of Burdett; nieces Allana and Rhonda and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Rose Biegler; three brothers Tony, Bill and Frank and two sisters Martha and Dorothy.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, August 26, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Interment took place at the Taber Memorial Garden.
