JOSEPHINE STUBBERT

1919 - 2002

Josephine (Phennie) Magdelena Stubbert, beloved wife of Glen Stubbert, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, July 15 2002 at the age of 83 years.
Besides her husband Glen, Josephine will be forever cherished by her children, daughter Anita (Tom DeZeng) and their family Michelle Proto (Leo Morneau) and her children Tyler and Cassidy and their father Don Swager, Michael Bowker and his daughter Hailey and her mother Mary Fredricks; daughter Val Stubbert (Henry Sullivan) and her daughter Natalie (Lonny) Halverson and their children Amanda and James, her son Brett Stimson and fiancé Teresa Neil; Henry's three sons, Stephen, Matthew and Michael; brothers and sisters Victoria (Howard) Valgardson of Taber, Vic (Rae) Ziebart of Calgary, Gene (Elsie) Ziebart of Sarnia, Ontario and Lorraine (Gordon) Lane of Bow Island; sisters-in-law, Vickey Ziebart; and Marvel Ziebart; Gabe and Duncan Mabin as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Josephine was predeceased by her parents Mike and Matilda Ziebart; a son Ronald; a daughter Josephine; brothers and sisters Jack Ziebart, Ann Fettig, Betty Ray, Rose Zalesak, Emil Ziebart and Leonard Ziebart.
Josephine was born in Emden (Fox Valley) Saskatchewan, May 27 1919. She moved with her family to Medicine Hat then Redcliff where she started her schooling. In 1931 the family moved to Burdett where Josephine completed her schooling. By 1936 the family had moved to Taber. Josephine was working at the Royal Café when she met her husband Glen in 1938. Josephine and Glen married in Taber, Jan 23 1941.
Josephine and Glen raised their family in various locations throughout Alberta and British Columbia locating to Lethbridge in 1968. Josephine’s selfless dedication to her home and family, and to her Catholic faith, were everything. Her quick wit, storytelling, love of music and the pride shown in presenting a lovely meal in a family setting; will be missed by all. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are her greatest legacies. Phennie will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet for Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, July 18 2002 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday July 19, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Jesus Timajo Celebrant.
