MARJORIE SMITH
1918 - 2002
Marjorie Elizabeth Smith, beloved wife of the late Jim Smith, passed away in Taber on Thursday, July 11, 2002 at the age of 84 years.
Marjorie was born in Taber on February 21, 1918, a daughter of Robert and Susan Trotter. She was raised in Rainier and in 1939 she married Jim Smith. In 1959 they moved to Vauxhall where they resided for many years. Following the death of her husband Jim in 1977, she remained in Vauxhall until 1997 when she moved to Taber. She first resided at the Clearview Lodge and for the past year she has been a resident of the Taber Continuing Care.
Marjorie will forever remembered by her children, Robert of Calgary and Darlene (Bruce) Koch of Lomond; her grandchildren, Brad (Kate) Koch, Michelle Darago, Willie Darago and their father William Darago; Deena (Dennis) Magtoto, Jennifer Smith and their mother Janice Maddaford; Darrell Smith, Kelly (Cathie) Smith, Krystal (Dave) Kitchen and their mother Leona Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Amanda Smith, McKenzie Koch, Dakota Koch and Ayden Kitchen; a brother, Wilson (Eleanor) Trotter of Brooks and a sister, Marion Alberts of Brooks as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Jim, Marjorie was predeceased by a daughter, Eleanor Darago and a son Wayne Smith.
The Funeral Service was held at Parkview United Church, 712 - 3rd Avenue North, Vauxhall on Monday, July 15, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jane Barter Moulaison officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
