SAM KRAUSE
1913 - 2002
Sam Krause, beloved husband of the late Mary Krause of Taber, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Taber Continuing Care Facility on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at the age of 89 years.
He will forever be cherished by his children Elaine Husband of Caroline; Vivian McDonald of Calgary; Joan (Dave) Paradee of Taber; Allen (Ronnie) Krause of Mississauga; Evelyn (Emile) Thibodeau of Gravelbourg; Shirley Krause of Regina; Betty Lou (Bill) Wyatt of Elkford; Julie Krause (Kenny Shields) of Sherwood Park; Tina Krause (Doug Rusu) of Edmonton; Robert (Wendy) Krause of Victoria; Cathy (Bruce) Williams of Onoway; Lisa (Kerry) Wilson of Sherwood Park and Celeste (deceased in 1983). Missing him dearly are his twenty grandchildren Mary Lou McDonald, Diane (Martin) Suits, Natalie (Mark) Knudsen, Corrie (Yolanda) Kilback, Brian McDonald, Melanie (Doug) Dechant, Kim Krause (Randy Loy), Curtis (Kandy) Paradee, Trevor Thibodeau, Brad Krause, Craig Krause, Alissia (Dave) Sawicki, Leslie Paradee (Derrick Horlings), Cindy Kilback, Trina Wyatt (Jason Larson), Carrie (Troy) Murray, Angie Krause, Kelly Williams, Steven Krause and Julia Shields. Also precious to him were his thirteen great grandchildren Marissa, Brittany and Seanna Knudsen; Samantha, Robin and Michael Paradee; Bradyn and Rebecca Johnson-Plant; Lyndon and Dolan Kilback; Logan and Alyssa Dechant; and Sarah Loy. Sam is survived by two brothers, Walter and Ernie and four sisters Linda Benko, Alice Townsend, Jean Boisclair and Connie Davies all of British Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Mary, his sweetheart and wife of sixty two years; his youngest daughter, Celeste; parents Molly and Martin Krause; his brothers, Art, Ted, and Manny; and sisters, Pauline Bagg, Clara Tomlin, and Hilda Shannon.
Sam, the eldest of fourteen children, was born on the family homestead in St. Boswells, Saskatchewan on February 4, 1913. He and Mary raised their family of thirteen children in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. Dad was a very hard working, creative man of many talents. He never hesitated to help anyone in need. He was there for his friends and relatives, but most of all, he was always there for his family. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Prayer Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 17, 2002 at 8:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating.
