HAROLD TILLEMAN

1931 - 2002

Harold Leo Tilleman of Lethbridge formerly of Hays, beloved husband of Hazel Tilleman, passed away with his family at his side and after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the age of 70 years.
Harold was born on June 11, 1931 in Surprise, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm in the Schuler area. He met and later married Hazel and in 1953, as newlyweds, moved to Hays. It was here they raised their family, farmed and where Harold enjoyed working with his cattle. He was a sports enthusiast and in his younger years played baseball with his brothers on the Schuler baseball team. Harold later took up curling and in his retirement became an avid golfer and bowler. Harold had a positive outlook on life and lived life to the fullest. He will always be looked up to and forever cherished in the hearts of his family.
Besides his loving wife Hazel he is survived by five children Dale (Heather) and their children Emily and Hilary; Lloyd (Barb) and children Bobbie, Lacey and Carl; Judy (Larry) Strom and children Amberly and Dianna; Connie (Tom) Dalton and children Sarah and Joel; Marlene (Peter) Myles; brother Ernest (Shirley); sister Viola Haag; sister-in-law Mildred Tilleman; brother-in-law Ken (Betty) Kramer and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Pauline Tilleman; sisters Edna Funk, Anna Kopp and Rena Kramer; brothers Arnold Tilleman and Robert Tilleman Jr.; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, April 25, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Frank Lewis, United Church of Canada, officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
