ROSE KLEMEN
1949 - 2003
Rose Marie (Wilk) Klemen, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael’s Health Centre, Lethbridge, on Thursday, June 26, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rose Marie was born at Taber on July 18, 1949, the youngest of eight children born to Peter and Mary Wilk. Following graduation from St. Mary’s High School, Taber in 1967 she attended Henderson Business College in Calgary. Rose Marie married Ed Klemen in 1968. She took great pride in raising her family and in 1989 she attended Alberta Vocational College and commenced employment with SNC Lavalin in Calgary. She remained with the firm until the time of her passing. In August 2000 she was diagnosed with cancer and for the past three years she fought a long hard battle, forever keeping her faith and always looked for the positive, humorous side of life.
Rose Marie will be forever remembered by her two daughters Bev (Jeff) Dutton of Calgary and Wendy (Chris) Parry of Okotoks; two special grandsons Andrew and Micheal Parry; the father of her children Ed Klemen of Okotoks; brothers and sisters John (Ella) Wilk of Calgary, Andy Wilk of Taber, Jean (Dale) Merriman of Lethbridge, Ken (Sine) Wilk of Courtenay, British Columbia, Bill (Carole) Wilk of Taber and sister-in-law Gwen Wilk of Taber. She will be greatly missed by aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, best friends Audrey, Vickie, Mary Ann and Mary and other friends and co-workers. Rose Marie will also be missed by Joe and Anne Klemen. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Wilk; two brothers Harry Wilk and Frank Wilk and by her daughter Kim on June 15, 2003.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 355 Columbia Boulevard West, Lethbridge on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 355 Columbia Boulevard West, Lethbridge on Wednesday, July 2 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dennis McDonald Celebrant.
